How to post to social media from Grok Bot

A Grok Bot is a teammate with its own computer, so it can keep a content calendar running. Connect it to Hey Tasky and it posts through your real accounts with a record of everything it scheduled.

Setup

Connect Grok Bot in 4 steps

You need a Hey Tasky workspace with at least one social account connected. Connect X, LinkedIn, Bluesky, Mastodon, or another network in Hey Tasky first, so Grok Bot has somewhere to post.

  1. Ask your Bot to add the server

In a chat with your Bot, send:

"Add a custom MCP server named Hey Tasky at https://mcp.heytasky.com/mcp."

    https://mcp.heytasky.com/mcp
  2. Approve the server card

The Bot shows an Add MCP Server card with the name, type Remote HTTPS, and the URL. Check the URL and save it.

  3. Sign in to Hey Tasky

Sign in to Hey Tasky and approve access when asked. If the sign-in doesn't complete, edit the server and add an HTTP header: Authorization with the value Bearer YOUR_API_KEY.

  4. Check it works

The server appears under Settings, Plugins, Yours, for every Bot on your account. Ask your Bot which Hey Tasky accounts it can post to.

Capabilities

What Grok Bot can do in Hey Tasky

These are the tools Hey Tasky's MCP server gives Grok Bot. Ask for a draft when you want to read a post before it goes out; a scheduled post publishes on its own at the time you set.

list_channels
Lists the accounts connected to your workspace, with the ids the agent needs to target them.
list_social_sets
Lists your social sets, such as one brand across X and Threads, so you can say "post this to my text list".
create_post
Saves a draft you review and schedule later in Hey Tasky. Nothing is published.
schedule_post
Schedules a post to one or more channels at an exact time. Hey Tasky publishes it automatically.
get_queue
Reads what is scheduled, published, or failed.
get_post_results
Returns impressions, likes, replies, reposts, and quotes for published posts, where the network reports them.
list_replies
Pulls replies to your posts, sorted into leads, questions, and praise.
get_best_times
Suggests weekday and hour slots from how your posts performed over the last 90 days.
get_account
Confirms which workspace and timezone the agent is working in.
Good to know

Before you rely on it

  • Ask for drafts until you trust the setup. A draft waits in Hey Tasky for you; a scheduled post publishes on its own at the time you set.
  • xAI's Grok Bot guide says Bots support the same MCP servers as Cursor, but xAI hasn't published step-by-step custom server docs during the beta. These steps follow the current beta and may change.
  • Team admins control which servers members can use through the Cursor team policy for plugins and MCP. A blocked server shows "Disabled by team admin".
  • Create an API key in Hey Tasky under Settings, Developers. Treat it like a password: anyone with the key can post to your workspace.
FAQ

Grok Bot and Hey Tasky questions

Is Grok Bot the same as Grok on grok.com?

No. Grok on grok.com adds servers under Connectors. Grok Bot is a separate app with its own setup. See the Grok guide for grok.com.

Can a Bot post without me checking?

Only if you let it schedule. Ask it to save drafts and you approve each post in Hey Tasky.
